| With its bold nickel hardware and
lean, clean styling, this embossed-leather briefbag is our update on the
old-style messenger bag. Its large but streamlined profile makes it a
smart choice in carry-alls.
The main compartment is well padded for protecting laptops up to 16"W x 4"D x 10½"H. Tool panels, a zippered compartment and two junior-folio-size pockets organize the small stuff. All of these disappear beneath the generous flap, whose buckle clasp adds stylish security. Metal bars on either side of the bag reinforce the strap and look cool, too, as does the industrial-strength zipper on the back stash. The bag measures 16½"W x 5½"D x 12¼"H yet weighs just 2½ pounds; the strap has a 20" drop. It comes in city black with matching nylon trim marching up the sides.
