Fiction

We will accept short stories up to 7,000 words if they are exceptional, but prefer shorter stories for online reading. Please do not send Christian, mainstream Women’s Fiction or Romance, or mainstream Science Fiction genres. We are interested in new talent as well as established writers.

Flash Fiction

We will accept flash up to 800 words.

Poetry

We prefer poetry under 100 lines, but will consider all work. We are mainly interested in free verse, but willing to consider superior form or rhymed poetry if it is unique and creative. Send only your best. Please send no more than five poems in a submission.

Essays

We will consider essays on any subject if well written, and carry a fresh point of view.

Book Reviews

We will consider reviews of short story collections, novels, volumes of poetry (by one author), as well as political commentary, a minimum of 500 words. We need a brief bio of the reviewer with the review.

Overall

Include a biography in third person with your submission, and we’re interested in some personal information as well as credits.

Submissions are always open, but we cannot guarantee that acceptances will be used in the next issue. Our response time is less than or equal to two months. If you haven't heard by then, please write us.

Please send no more than five poems, three flashes or one prose piece per submission.

We do not pay contributors, nor are we a publishing house for chapbooks or books. We are simply a literary e-zine. However we are interested in generating income for the website, so if you have specific ideas for selling ebooks or chapbooks, please query us. This is a new venture and we're open to discussion.

Copyright reverts to the author upon publication. All work published is with the express consent and permission of the author, who may withdraw it at anytime before we go online with a new issue.

We can handle submissions within the body of emails, or attachments of .txt or .doc files.

Photography & Graphics

We accept the following:

  Cover Art and Loose Artwork. Between one and three photos or graphics that fit with our cover design or can be used as design elements. Maximum width: 500 pixels.

  Picture Essays. Preferably between two and eight photos or graphics with a title and a unifying, if not necessarily verbalized, theme. Maximum width: 720 pixels. Essays may optionally include text or captions.

Electronic submission only. Advance queries are not normally necessary. Send files as e-mail attachments in gif or jpg format only.

Before submitting, please calibrate your monitor correctly. All graphics must have professional technical qualities and must have good tonal and color range on both Windows and Mac monitors. Images should be visually free of borders, attributions, or copyright notices, although they may be digitally watermarked.
