Poem

GATHERING GRACE

by

Jim Boring

black ash
seed pods
hang head
down bowed
brown husks
icebound
beneath winter
sky gathered
in the gray
squirrel's nest
digested
metabolized
transformed
into the flick
of the gray
squirrel's tail
the graceful leap
into falling light.
