JUNE 2002 ISSUE #7
Greetings!
WE OVERFLOW WITH GOOD NEWS THIS MONTH!
WE WELCOME LEVENGER
It is with much pride that we announce our new corporate sponsorship by one of the
classiest online retail outlets for reader and writer related products. We hope
our readership will support Literary Potpourri by accepting Levenger's catalogs and
buying their beautiful products.

PRINT ANTHOLOGIES
The fruits of Lit Pot Press, Anthology #1 and Anthology #2 arrived from the printer,
and they are beautiful! All current orders have shipped on time, as promised. Because it is a limited run, there are only about 25 copies of each edition left, so get your order in early if you plan to buy one.
ORDER NOW,
ALL PROFITS GO TO THE FUND FOR PAYING STIPENDS TO WRITERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS.

WE NOW PAY OUR WRITERS/ARTISTS!
Because of the support of our readers (their purchases of LP anthologies) and our sponsor, Levenger,
as detailed above, we are ecstatic to announce that effective with the June 2002
Issue we are paying stipends to our contributors. Please see Guidelines for
details on such payments. This is a success story, given the goals we laid down in
April, 2002.
We are grateful to everyone whose fine work has gone uncompensated in the
past. This magazine has stood on your shoulders in order to grow. We hope you will submit more work in the future for which we can pay you. It is because of artists like you that
literature and art stay alive, and we are deeply grateful.
NEW STAFF ADDITIONS TO LIT POT
Lit Pot is extremely pleased to welcome two new staff members to the Masthead. Shaula
Evans, a writer and playwright, joins us to take over the onerous job of Book Review
Editor. She will also be a contributing editor, writing reviews as well as other work
in the fiction/poetry arenas.
Jim Boring, one of our regular contributors has made himself a hero and an invaluable asset to Literary Potpourri by way of facilitating the Levenger corporate sponsorship.
He shall continue in such matters as Director of Marketing for this magazine, as well as a contributing editor.
Mary McCluskey, beloved heart & soul of Lit Pot, is stepping down from the Associate
job to finish her second novel, but will continue in her capacity as Contributing Editor,
as always. (Do not miss "Impersonator" the mid-month Surprise last month. Just click the
Elvis button in June). And of course David Hubert and Diana Butcher continue with us, doing their fine work.
We thank them all for their selfless efforts. While contributors are going to be paid, alas, the staff continues in voluntary service. The true heroes!
LIT POT LOTTERY!
We want you on our newletter list. It lets us know who our readers are, and it
is a way for us to communicate with you, to send you money and prizes, to offer
you Levenger products and to stay in touch. So, to entice you to sign up, we
have decided to hold a lottery on July 1st for a lovely prize from Levenger.
I can't tell you what it is yet because I don't know, but if it's Levenger, it's
good.
It costs you nothing. Somebody's got to win. It will be fair and random, and
our 30-second newsletter is not a drag. You don't want to miss it.
MILD HORSE NOMINEES
We were proud to nominate Beverly Carol Lucey and Wendy Vaizey for the $100
prize competition for Mild Horse Press.
See Details Congratulations to the nominees.
THE JUNE 2002 ISSUE #7
As always, we have a fabulous potpourri of work for you this month, including
some regulars: Tom Sheehan, Jim Boring, Ellen Parker, Nick Carding, Wendy Vaizey, Bill Coleman and Janet Buck. But a lot of new names and talent are with us too. Including Kenneth Kaye's first published fiction story. Don't miss Mercedez Buzbee's exotic photography. We love her work, and of course Bill Coleman's stunning cover graphic
reflects the continuing excellence of his work.
Thank you for your readership. We love hearing from you, so don't hold back your comments. Your criticisms and praise keep us working to make LP a zine you'll come back to again and again. Give us your suggestions, reactions and complaints. We welcome them.
Don't forget to sign up for our 30-second newsletter. (The shortest newsletter on the web!) It will remind you when new material is being published, and you don't want to miss it!
Yours, sincerely,
Beverly Jackson
