Short Story & Flash Fiction Guidelines
Please read the Sample Contract(s) - links below - before submitting work.
Short Story
We accept stories up to 5,000 words in length. Longer submissions will be returned unread.
We strongly advise you to let the story speak for itself. Please do not summarize or discuss your submission in the cover letter.
What is Flash Fiction?
A brief inspired moment, a tale told in one gasp, a life written on a file card. The subtle hint of structured, plotted prose with a tangy taste of lyrical, irreverent poetry.
We want it to give us a quick punch to the gut. Make us catch our breath. We want goose bumps, and we want laughter, all in 1,000 words or less. Read our Sample Flash for more ideas.
How to Send
Submissions will be accepted via email only - no more than one story per submission, and no more than one submission per month.
